Diamondback 3G never required a firmware update, although they're available for other Razer mice. Here is the official download page for the Diamondback 3G:

http://www.razersupport.com/index.php?_ ... id=0&nav=0

And here is probably the best community driven resource for all Razer products:

Well..I am dissapointed. :?

I tried the Razor 3G last night and it pretty much sucked.

I removed my current drivers for my ocz mouse, rebooted , installed the razor software ( nice packaging too btw best I have seen yet ). I went thru the simple config screen for the mouse set it up as I liked and tried it. No on screen display showing dpi change. Also, no dpi change whatsoever on the fly.

Rechecked the mouse config, box is checked to show on screen config and mouse button was set to change dpi, yet no on screen effect and no dpi change when I started clicking. It would only let me change dpi in the mouse setup.

Online reviews of my current mouse isnt great, apparent issues with smoothness, this razor came suggested. I didnt find it overly comfortable. Tho I am sure that some people definately would, I did however like the molded left and right click so your fingers stay put. The mouse itself was very flat and for me personally, with the size of my hands, it left 1/2 of my hand on the desk. My current mouse is much higher and allows for more hand on the mouse - which for me is better - gives me better control. Also, the razor has only a small rubber insert for grip for your thumb, the ocz has much more for added grip.

I am returning this mouse today. I would try another Razor ( a larger mouse hopefully ) but left more than a little skeptical of the driver/software suite. So, I'm back to the OCZ :(

Check for Firmware updates. I know my Lachesis had several before they got things working right.

EDIT: nevermind, the 3G doesn't have any.

This is what I mean. Why release a piece of hardware knowingly with issues. Its going to leave a bad taste in the consumers mouth. Sure , firmware updates are fine to increase performance and possibly weed out teeny issues that some people may have.

I am in the market for a better performing mouse but I dont think I am going to go the way of the Razor. :?

I havent heard anything bad about the G19 Keyboard or the G11 which I currently use, any issues with any Razor keyboard noted by any user here?

Might as well attach a lazer eye to a sledge hammer ha. I had one & it was garbage compared to my $20 OCZ Equalizer.

Sorry to hear. On screen display works fine for me in all 32 and 64 bit operating systems. Never had skipping problems, and I would definately notice with the amount of QuakeLive I play. Strange.

Biggest mouse in the Razer line is the Deathadder.

The Logitech G9 is pretty big and so is the G5.

I assumed the G5's replaced those since they're almost identical, except for the forward button on the MX518 and the extra DPI and weight cartridge on the G5 and the G5 being newer, but a quick Google search shows places still selling them. What's the deal with that? I mean, if I had one I wouldn't go out and replace it with a G5 but if I was buying new why would I consider the MX518 over the G5, or even care that much really since they are so similar. Seems weird to be carrying both products when they are so alike. I guess it could still be excess inventory but the G5's have been out for some time now... I smell a MX518 conspiracy and something tells me Dr_Bend_Over is behind it. ;)

G5's did indeed replace the MX518's

I got a G5 but its just way too big and high arched for me.

It is pretty big and I find with the shape of it I end up holding it more diagonal that straight up and down. So at an angle like \ instead of |. I've had my hands on Razor products before and they're really nice I just don't want to spend the money on one when I got this mouse for $29. That and I don't play FPS's that often so speed and accuracy of a mouse to that degree doesn't concern me as much as it would others.

Microsoft IntelliMouse 3.0 > G5 v2 > G5 > MX510

Best mouse I've used.

I definately need a mouse that huge. Both in height and length. The OCZ is pretty good, I've gotten used to it - tho online reviews arent great, I havent had an issue for the little amout of COD4 that I play. I will have to check out the Microsoft mouse, how much are those nowadays?
