Anyways here is the story.

About 5 years back I was at a flea market in kentville looking around and I seen this nintendo Entertainment system in a mint box. I decided to ask to look through and everything was in the original plastic and all components were in mint shape.

I'm guessing whoever bought it left it at their grandparents and just... forgot about it..

Nevertheless I picked this up and never opened the box again wishing to keep it in its pristine condition.

Anyways i'm thinking a system like this in the original box is probably not common. It's the duckhunt/mario edition with the zapper.

Anyways thought i'd share the story as well.

Anyone else have any uncommon systems around in mint shape?

Atari?
TG16
Intellivision?

Ill prob use as a keepsake anyways

Or you could just emulate...

I'm pretty sure you'll get more for it in the plastic and unknown condition, than taking the chance of opening it and maybe not working at all...

I'd say you're right.

I'll keep it in box and not open it like i haven't for years. It is kind of neat to open my closet and be like "woah neato". But all in all it is just a giant paperweight

I still have a Commadore 64C ( ivory/white color ) that was given to me as a Xmas gift when I was a kid. Its in storage now back in NL but still have loads of games and its still in mint working cond. Also have the disk drive thats pretty much the same size as the computer.

Choplifter , Gunship ( with kb template), Law of the west, Summer/Winter Games, Mission imposible etc were a few of the games that came on 5 1/4 HUGE ass floppies. Still have the 300 Baud modem that xferred 30 bytes of data in a whopping 10-20 mins lol Also several ANCI graphic BBS's

Crazy to think what I have now in comparison.

I had a friend who had a Turbo Graphics 16 and I loved how the "game cards" worked in the main system as well as in their handheld system. Has any other company done this to date? I know it's a bit more difficult to do now, with all the 3D power needed, but you would think they'd be able to come out with something that would scale the games to the hardware instead of developing directly for both platforms... I suppose it would have it's disadvantages as well as advantages and that's why things are the way they are but damn it was neat going from console to handheld with the same game card.
