Some here may find the following thread VERY interesting.

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/sho ... p?t=235968

"As you may or may not know, Windows 7 allows two display drivers to be used at once - like in Windows XP. Therefore, it is possible to use an Nvidia card for PhysX and ATI card for graphics rendering"

Once again the community gives the big middle finger to Nvidia.

Not hard to see why Nvidia attempted to block PhysX from working if you had a Ati card present.

I've gotta get a copy of Win7...

Definitely not opposed to team green jumping in along side Ruby in my home pc if it will produce results like shown in that graph ( or similar )

wonder if I could keep the two 4870's in CF and pop in an Nvidia card for Physx

what ya think steve-o? Fill up all 4 pci-e slots or what? lol

I think I'll slap that 8800GTS in tonight and see if I can get PhysX to work in Batman under XP, I'll just have to make sure I don't boot into Vista though, it had a conniption last time I booted into it with both teams installed.

No go, I wonder if this old G80 POS can't do PhysX, I set things up like I had it about a year ago when I got a 9800GT working :|

It's just "one" game. Albiet an awesome game, much better suited to the PS3 et al.

If more video decoder/encoder programs (like convertxtodvd) supported one or the other (cuda, stream) then the adoption rate would rise.

I thought only the GeForce 9000's series or higher could do PhysX? I think I remembered this because it meant I just barely made the cut with my 9600Pro... which would choak on any modern game that also used PhysX no doubt. ;)

The 9800GT worked, which is just an 8800GT with a new sticker on the box. I suppose I could slap the 9800GT in as a primary with the 8800GTS for PhysX and eliminate the Ati check, but according to the info I have, the version of PhysX I have installed shouldn't have the Ati check.
