LOL once again, I play the role of the anti-environmentalist.

I do not feel like I should change any life routine just because someone thinks my actions are hurting the environment.

Seriously, if you see the world as I do (this land is your land/vice versa), then you'll understand that I'm the type that is going to throw his 8 pack webbing into the river if it should be convenient.

Never do I think "how will this affect the ecosystem"

Screw it

If the government really cared they'd clean up industry (neenah, ns power etc) from dumping 500 billion peoples worth of polution into the sky.

As long as there's plastic bags, and they're free, I'm going to use them. Why the hell should I have to remember to pack my cloth bags when I go shopping?

The bags are part of my purchase, I do not care. I pay environmental tax for damn near every device I purchase, so why should I have to pay for a bag for christ sakes?

LOL now I'm angry!!

Environment aside, I find the reusable bags so much easier to carry things than the plastic ones. It's not as much of an issue with me anymore, as my car is literally 5 steps from my front door, but when I lived in an apartment and you wanted to carry everything in one trip it was so much better with the big reusable Sobeys bags.

As for having to remember to pack them when your grocery shopping, I just leave them in my trunk. When I bring in the groceries I just throw them by the door afterwards and next time I'm going out I throw them back in the car. Doesn't seem to be much of a problem for me.

I'll leave the rest of your post alone because I'm pretty much the exact opposite in how I think about this stuff and leave it at that. ;)
