I have run into an issue lately where the card will not reduce it's core and memory clock speed when idle. It gets stuck at 400MHz/800MHz as opposed to it's fully reduced idle speeds. This usually happens after video playback, and cannot be fixed unless you restart your computer. Once the clocks are stuck there, they will not ramp up to full speed when playing a game or whatnot. Google shows that it's not uncommon, and many people are having this problem. Hoping a driver update will fix it.
