EVGA, not bad MB! Wonder what the wait times on ordering them would be...

16053 EVGA GTX470 1280MB 320BIT GDDR5 PCIe2.0 2xDVI+Mini HDMI $407.00
16054 EVGA GTX480 1536MB 384BIT GDDR5 PCIe2.0 2xDVI+Mini HDMI $582.00

I'd be (pleasantly) surprised if/when they show up on MB for less than 400$ and 575$.

Colour me almost (pleasantly) surprised. Not a bad guess from 1 month ago heh.

Now only if they came bundled with a "Baking with Fermi" cookbook. I'd prolly have to go get one.

If you ask me, paying $100 more for a 470 isn't worth it over a 5850.

Hooray for the Dutch, they must have received the only 3 cards in the entire country.

Holy power hog - quick grab the power hog repellent bat-spray!

two 480's top out three 5870 in power consumption - and when in 3 way sli, ~400 watts more? design Fail.

Then...
Quote:
16053 EVGA GTX470 1280MB 320BIT GDDR5 PCIe2.0 2xDVI+Mini HDMI $407.00
16054 EVGA GTX480 1536MB 384BIT GDDR5 PCIe2.0 2xDVI+Mini HDMI $582.00

...Now!
16053 EVGA GTX470 1280MB 320BIT GDDR5 PCIe2.0 2xDVI+Mini HDMI $424.00
16054 EVGA GTX480 1536MB 384BIT GDDR5 PCIe2.0 2xDVI+Mini HDMI $648.00

I'm not knocking MB, they just react to market forces (and the sinking dollar).

That's about the same 5% increase over the original release that the 5K cards have, $319 for an ASUS 5850 in Oct., $335 for a Sapphire one now.

FERMI's first victim, BFG

http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/news/vid ... ptops-pcs/

Possibly the rumour about having to buy mass quantities of crappy GPU's to get "good" ones is true and BFG just said fcuk it and abandoned the market.

Several reasons why I am getting 2 x 480's this fall (pending bank loan). 1. Need the office heated for the winter. 2. Use 3 x monitors 3. Fly FSX in 3d (more bank loans DOH!) 4. Like the sounds of cooling fans cranked up thus my computer sounds like a jet taking off.
Hopefully the prices will drop a bit. The 3D surround concept though expensive should be a hoot if some day I ever go that route.

I offer my condolances to anyone who has to pay your electricity bill!

My usage has gone since I started gaming with eyefinity. Decent-sized monitors use over 100W of power (not to mention give off heat), my 27" uses 175W and 24"s are 135W or so each, so about 700W of power draw just powered on and doing nothing.
