Good thing I had a jumper, the hard drive doesn't come with any, since I'm using XP. It helps to read the instructions :P Only 4 more drives to go.

Steve-o..

Is this the drive that uses new actuator technology, compression, 64mb cache and dual processors?

If so, it will flatten your raptors read write speeds.

10TB is a sick amout of space.

It's a green drive, running in XP, so some stuff has been disabled for compatability.

This is no black drive...I've still got 4 more drives to buy before July 1st heh.

Cuz purty old 7 didn't exist when I first built the Jesusbox! I'm not one to install a new OS on a box that's just a fileserver and HTPC box when the old one works just fine heh. Once XP dies i'll giver a go.

ah yes the chess pieces are moving Steve-O. This is far from over and I am sure Rob has much more up his sleeve to thwart your efforts.

I reserved the final 3 drives for pickup sometime this week, as I don't see them getting any cheaper by July.

Caption Text: "Steve hasn't deleted a single file in over 5 years yet continues downloading and saving old outdated information. He has been acquiring more and more hard drive space in recent years to make room for additional, and often redundant data."

Steve: "I need all this stuff... you never know when I'll be able to use it again"

Councilor: "What about this saved game here for Civilization 1?"

Steve: "I need that! I was planning on going back and finishing that scenario."

Councilor: "But the properties of the file show it hasn't been used in over 12 years... when were you planning on doing this?"

Steve: "Well... I forgot about the file up until now so that's why I haven't gotten around to it yet... I'd also need to find out where I stored the .iso for the game install too... it's around here though."

Councilor: "Lets try and experiment here... what if I were to delete this file. On a scale of 1 to 10 where would your anxiety be"

Steve: "10... definitely a 10" *starts breathing heavily and panicking*

;)

Well.

To add to Flama's blurb, my brand new 1TB drive that I just got last week has about 13% left on it...

I always said this when it comes to storage: If you have the space, you WILL use it.

I remember back on my 386 with 100mb hdd. I thought it was a huge jump when I got my first 500mb hdd. That filled up pretty quick, and soon I was saving for a second 500mb. I think I ended up getting a 1gb drive and with 1.5gb of storage I thought I'd be set.

Possibilities possibilities...

Install, install, hoarde hoarde

Now today with my 1TB drive, after jumping from 320gb of storage, I am left wanting more......

Interesting phenomena

EDIT: Just noticed Hali Newf is about to reach 1250 posts! Great job man! You bugger, I can't even touch that and mb forums follows me around wherever I go (phone) lol.

I gave up on Civ 1 in 1998, Star Control ][ is where it's at.

Truly one day the internet will die and I'll need to do something!

Hours and hours and hours and hours and hours of transferring...woo!
