Gots a replacement card (thanks duder!), still have blinking issues with my DP-DVI adapter thingy, but I can live with that.

Colbert would be proud... truthiness!

Yeah I'll give the AMD GPU adjuster a go at it. Cause the Catalyst Centre is being lame... I also like the sounds of the ASUS brand not limiting OCing.. maybe I'll pick one of those up next. So far I've had mostly BFG, Sapphire, and now XFX. I've had a 2900xt Sapphire die on me after 4months of purchase (back when they were $450 new). My 7900GTX which I still have with me after 2yrs took some massive failure and causes aritfacts, and its 3dmark score dropped to half.. but its my backup card if my current card isn't working so I can at least boot windows. So far though my XFX 5770 is working great, no issues with Bad Company 2 or Borderlands!

The 7900 will not work with windows 7 unless you use an old driver version, 1.5 I believ, it causes serious artifacts and makes your pc virtually unusable.

I didnt know the 5770 was that good. I am waiting for a little time to pass and prices to drop (eventually) going x-fire on the 5850's

Ditto, mine died after about 6 months, got another one, and it found it's way into another comp, where it's blasting away!

I called that one the "leafblower" edition heh.

Rob and I just got a first hand listen to this thing.
We ran it all day yesterday and nothing. first thing this morning it really did sound like a jet engine for about a minute and then shut right up again.

Okay, good to know you know I'm not crazy.

Remember how the new card from 2010 had no "HDCP" sticker on it, and the 2009 one did...apparently there is a big ongoing class-action lawsuit (from 2004ish to 2008ish) over that, and that people can get a free upgrade to a 4560 or something stupid.
