Hey guys, my 8800 GT finally decided to quit on me, so I'm looking to buy a new video card. I currently have a P5N-D motherboard with an Intel Core2Duo 3.0 GHz processor and 2 GB of ram. What would be my best option for a really good card for a reasonable price? I'm looking to be able to run SC2 perfectly... and I still play good ole CSS, so I need something good for that (EX: ATI cards make it so when you get hit with a flashbang you don't get as blind and it doesn't last as long as it would on any other vid cards). Price range anywhere from...$100-$250. Would obviously rather spend less money for a card that will get the job done

-Thanks
Logan

You can probably pick up a 4870 or 4890 on kijiji for much less than 200.

Mysterybyte has the HD5770 for less than $200. Not a bad card, I'm running the 1GB Version.

Logan,

I saw your post and did some looking. If thats the Asus 8800GT from 2008 you bought from MB than it should have some MFG warranty left on it. If you want to call me with the S/N, I can see about sending it back for a small RMA charge. We can set you up with a temp card until that defective one is replaced and shows back from Asus.

let me know!

-Rob

That's good of Rob to do a little homework and work something out for a customer.

On a side note it is a sweet card. I run SC2 perfectly fine, as well as Bad Company 2.

SORRY, but I just saw this post! I will actually bring in the card to see if we can send it in, but I think an upgrade is far past due :wink: haha

Is this a mysterybyte thing? I haven't lived in NS for a few years now so I'm not familiar with the policies.

Either way Mysterybyte has the most amazing service out of any computer store I have dealt with.That's why I would buy all my computer parts from them!

I feel very stupid every time I bring in something so incredibly borked, we have to call it Mr. Brokeass.
