NS Power had originally said 1:45 for on time, but their site don't work.

Well - me and the missus moved our cars to seemingly better parts of the parking lot. Upon venturing outside besides being full of dirt and leaves and a few small tree branches underneath our cars no damage done.

However...

Its a good thing I didnt trust that huge tree that overhangs right over the parking spot.

Its alot larger and heavier than you think. This would have popped the windows out of one of our cars easily if that crush in the roof some.

I'm sure Dr. B has some pictures of looting and rioting over in South-Central New Glasgow!

Haha we were without power til right about ughhh now... Took a drive around town to see the damage. Lots of fallen trees (did you see that mess on Townsend Ave Dr B?). Funny thing is the business district (mall, big brand stores, car dealerships) were on a seperate grid and didn't lose their power til about 4 when I got out of work (damnit missed a day with pay). Came home, BBQ'd and went to bed tech-less. Woke up just now with the sweet hum of electricity flowing through my house. So much for NS Power's "Not til 6pm Sunday" restoration statement. Mind you it's still pretty windy out and may go down again.

PS: Hali are you in Clayton Park? Those numbers and location coincide with an apt building I stayed at for a while there and it just seems kinda trippy that it looks the same! lol

holy cow the hurricane tourists were out in full force today. they closed the roads to peggy's cove and lawrencetown beach so they all came to herring cove instead. dumb asses. only reason i lost power was because some twit hit a power pole in spryfield. had no power from about 11am to 4pm.
people venturing out in the middle of storms and causing accidents are why it takes NSP so long to get to people who are legitimately without power from these storms.

Those trees are crafty, just sitting there, growing, then WHAM.

I haven't ventured into town. Damage out here in the sticks, seems to be limited to sticks, maybe some shrubbery blown over, nothing worth the 10+ hour power loss and 24+ hour cable loss. At least I never ran out of ice for my rum. :D

I agree - I don't think that weather really warranted the amount of crazy outages we got which was off and on all night in Eastern Passage.
