http://www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2010/10/28/crtc-usage-based-billing-internet.htmlI don't care if HST is 2% higher if my internet is 100% more awesome than the rest of the country!
This is quite possibly the most anti-consumer practice that the monopoly funded and supported CRTC has slammed on the consumers to date.
OH, and for all you Canadiens fans:
Thank you for taking the time to contact us. We can certainly assist you with your issue.
At Shaw Direct, we carry all the Montreal Canadiens games in both SD and HD on RDS and we’d be happy to offer it to you at half the subscription price (on our RDS/RIS package) for six months. It was TSN’s decision to take a handful of (Regional Blackout) English-broadcast Montreal Canadiens games and making them available only through a new surcharge. Shaw Direct is not in support of this move to penalize our customers with further fees, and we are encouraging TSN to bring these events to their existing specialty channel. Other companies such as Rogers, Videotron, and Eastlink share our position, and we are all encouraging our customers to contact TSN directly to let them know what our viewers want. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. Please include any previous correspondence with your replies.
Thank you for choosing Shaw Direct,Emphasis mine, I pay for my parents Sat TV, since they don't really have any phone service at all up in Northern Ontario. And Bell is a very evil company anyways, we all knew that before.
