The one online dealer that was selling in any quantity is a place that is pretty much run by the Chinese <insert stereotypes here> and they'd sell anything no matter how defective, counterfeit or on-fire it had been.

I didn't mean "buy it now" I just meant that its optimized for exactly what he wants so waiting for the new boards to come in, or maybe buying a recalled board nice and cheap, would probably be his best bet.

Actually a friend of mine has a MB he just purchased just before the flaw news came out. He decided to go with the 1100T system instead and wants to sell the MB at a good price so I'm thinking about buying it.

Well the guy sold his MB before I could get there to buy it. Since I can't buy a SB MB online anywhere looks like I'm stuck with the X6 1100T or 1090T which chances are I'll still be happy with since my video apps will use all 6 cores. I don't want to wait for new MB's to come out or wait for the bulldozer cpus I'm way to impatient for that I've already dog doodled around enough now. lol

Here's what I got ..

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T / 3.2 GHz - Socket AM3 - L3 6 MB
ASUS M4A89GTD-PRO/USB3 890GX+SB850 2PCI-EX16 xFire, 4D DDR3-1600, ATX DVI-I,D-SUB, HDMI, HD-AUDIO
Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX
Coolermaster eXTREME POWER+ 700W SLI/CF 2x6+2pin PCIe 24/20PIN +12v-52A

I was going to build a HTPC in 5-6 months also so I'll use this system for a while for work then when I see a need to go to SB i'll use this system as the HTPC since it has onboard video and HDMI and build a new SB work system.

2 to 3 times the performance, looks about right.

I'm chiming in before peeps start throwing sandy bridge or Intel extreme numbers to make those look bad.

Don't. We're not made of money.

When i first built my pc the loudest thing in it was the amd stock cooler.Im very happy with the sound and cooling of the V8(i keep my V8 speed adjuster dead center with a cpu overclock of 3.8 and temp's never go over 40 even after heavy gaming)usually sits at 31 idle and 37 gaming.I did come very close to going corsair H2O but my old soprano case at the time wouldn't allow it to fit.
