I recently bought 8 (eight!) S-Flex SFF21D fans from a certian online retailer (I'm not bothering MB to see if they can get specific 120mm fans, unless MB wants to in the future). This is not your typical Chinese crap. It's high-class Chinese crap :P

It uses some kind of "Fluid Dynamic Bearing" developed by SONY (yuck SONY).

I put 2 for intake in the front of the case, 1 for intake on the hard drives (they get stupid hot, so I may just get a more powerful one later on), and 2 for exhaust behind the hard drives. I kept the H50 as a single push exhaust as I don't have enough room behind the CPU to make it push/pull and I don't want there to be too high of inhale/exhaust ratio.

Idle temp of 33C, prime 95 torture 51C, so pretty much the same cooling that I got on the PHII 945 I get on the 9850.

I bought these fans for the fact that they are stupid quiet, which is why I got em for the HTPC Jesusbox. I got rid of all the old crap fans (finally) that came with the box. The temps are about as same as before, but these bad boys only operate at 800rpmish.

Apparently they are rated for 150,000 hours (17 years) so these are the last ones I should need for a long while.

hot damn - they have an abnormally high cfm for 800rpm - flippin' sweet.

Now If I visit Steve-O we dont have to yell anymore in the living room over the loud hum of fans! ha!

Oh I'll still probably have to talk louder over the pretty much daily CoD MW2 PS3 gamefest (2 or more PS3's heh).

Well the fan on the H50 radiator started to make a whiny noise (like those Montreal fans did last night), replaced it with 2 more S-Flex...Popped in the old 5770 to boot. It's a full inch shorter than the 4770, pretty nifty IMO.

It ain't pretty, but it's just for storing crap, and being quiet.

Suggestion Steve-O -

The 3-4 pin pwr connector that runs your H50's pump is kinda close to the fan blades there - I would tie it in a half knot to shorten it up and prevent any damage to the wires.

When you swapped out the fan, was there any temp difference?

Those fans are super weak sauce, I'm more worried about the fan not starting again :P

The temps didn't go up...but I also vacuumed out the dust that was in the rad so that probably helped as well.
