Doc, how is that accent as far as highway driving in less than ideal weather goes?

i'm looking to buy a new(ish) car and after several bad experiences with a Rio i'm a little weary of cars that small.

I used an accent as a secondary car for 4 years. The new style that is.

By experience smaller cars cut through the snow much better. This is no exception for the accent.

I would recomment an Accent just for the bang for the buck value. Mind you now I drive the Cruze 1.4 Turbo.

But if I ever get another third car it would be an accent. They hold up well.

If I had to drive a lot on the highway, I wouldn't have an Accent. In wet conditions the wide ass tires on mine are rather prone to hydroplaning. For winter I have studded 15's which are for the most part pretty bulletproof in the snow, I've never gotten stuck or lost control with them. Wind, although not as bad as with my '99, still has an effect (the '08 is a lot heavier). I actually tend to stick to the back roads which are actually funner to drive, so long as you don't get stuck behind some geezer doing 50K under the speed limit.

Yep, I almost managed to avoid the stupid thing, but I still clipped it and the driver side fender looks like crumpled tin foil. On a side note I got to watch a deer die a slow painfull death while waiting for someone to show up to put it down.

It is entirely brutal but you've always got a tire iron.

I'm not entirely sure what stupid law I'd be breaking if I killed a deer out of season. The first car to stop was an ex cop and he even waited for the RCMP to show up.

It's funny, I never even thought about my own well being until I got asked if I was OK. I could have hit it dead on and had it fly into the windshield or set off the damn airbag(s).

yes this situation sucks, but you have made a point, you are lucky that you were able to swerve and avoid it head on. It easily could went a different way if you weren't quick on the wheel. hope u suffered no ill effects from the mishap.

Hit a deer with my parents car waaay back in the day, luckily it was just the front quarterpanel that had to be replaced, that ran about 250$ under the table.

I wasn't trying to be a dick, I was pointing out that as far as the DNR are concerned if you've hit an animal they want you to put it out of its misery as soon as possible.
I've never had it happen to me personally but I had a brother that had to deal with that and when someone did finally show up they said that was what they expected people in that situation to do.
