Have any of you played Deus Ex ? For the pc or otherwise?

I am not down for the role playing type but this first person shooter mixed with this genre is well , insanely good.

Cinematics and the environment is amazing, gamplay also amazing, graphics and wicked.

be prepared to lose many hours of your life to it.

Two of my closest friends have been playing it quite a bit from what I've seen from their Steam accounts. I've seen some videos but does it play sorta like the Mass Effect games? If so I'd be very interested.

I havent played mass effect.

at any rate - I dont think anyone would be ticked if they picked this up. I got a special edition from breast guy in bayers lake ( which includes fancy packaging and a book with art work, a bonus dvd etc)

its pretty awesome.

My problem is I downloaded the pre-release beta which is the first 11 hours. I finished it, now I'm 4 hours into the new campaign and already bored of playing the same stuff over again.

WOW! that first boss is tough and the loading time is way too long to have to keep going through until you kill him.

just go immediately left - ammo up and pick up the barrel.

when he tips the corner throw the barrel and take off.

pick up barrels and poison gas and throw at em from a distance while ammo
ing up then shoot the shit outta em and dodge the 'nades and you will kick his arse.

I tried throwing barrel's but he shot them in my arms before i got a chance to chuck them.I beat him by running straight to the back and then went right and found a ammo box that had a emp and regular grenade.Hid beside the ammo box and his grenades missed me so when he turned his back i hit him with the 2 grenades and shotgunned his face. Now seeing how hard the first boss was i invested in the typhoon aug after that battle.

typhoon isnt needed if you battle that dude right.

yeah at the beginning hacking will be needed, do your best to open it all up it will come in handy for those higher level hacks and to turn turrets and robots against enemies ( fun to watch them all be gunned down haha)

the typhoon aug will come in the 2nd half of the game as well as the Icarus landing system - which is pretty f'n cool to watch and will also ( if u jump from a good height) give you the option to stun people around you.

Yep for anyone that just started playing this great game read above or you will be wasting aug's the manual doesn't tell you a whole lot.Max hacking skill's first or you will run into trouble later.I learned the hard way and had to restart the game.

Seems like something they should probably clear up with a patch then because I thought the whole purpose for this game was you could beat the encounters a number of different ways (stealth, guns, hacking etc). If you're almost forced to take certain skills at the start in order to get by then it sounds like there's a balancing issue.

NO you can still finish the game any way you choose but you will be missing alot.I hated hacking pc's and i figured my level 1 hacking would get me through until a few chapters in but no i was running into level 2 and 3 pc to hack whick i couldn't do.
