Ye old '99 Accent is feeling the corrosive wrath of winter in the Maritimes. So it's out with the old - won't pass inspection without sinking money into it - not worth wasting money on - and in with the new.

2008 Accent GL Sport 3dr in Tango Red. :D (back in debt :( ) Picking it up Thursday. Gotta remember how to drive a stick.

That grinding sound and lurching motion when you put it into gear indicate progress. :P

Good choice on the wheels. Debt is bad though.

I learned to, and still, drive a standard. When I'm in an automatic I have to remember not to step on the "clutch" (the extra-wide break pedel in an automatic) when I'm coming up to a turn or stop sign. :?

Congrats though!

Ha, fortunately for me the automatics I've driven have a fake clutch pad area. Every time I go to start the car I'll hit the thing and realize my mistake. But yeah I've definitely hit the brakes before and had an extra-short stop, thinking I was clutching-in to downshift.

I've never seen those faux-clutches before but they sound like they would help me. For the first 5 minutes or so I'm usually fine but at some point after that I start getting too comfortable and I screw up from force of habit.

Anyways post pictures of the car when you get it Dr. I'd post pics of mine but its over 2 years old now (2006 Civic) and I don't really have any up to date ones with all the dents people have put in it's side when opening their doors. :(

I hope I can drive this one for more than 6 months before some schmuck plows into me.

A friend of mine in Calgary (who actually used to post here way back as DTM13 I believe) bought a new Yaris earlier this year and a women in his apartment building nailed it in the parking lot after 2 weeks and drove away. Luckily someone else who lives there saw and let him know so he could collect insurance but I'm sure the car will never really be the same again. Always good to hear the horror stories eh? ;)

If I was at home, I'd shine mine up and take some pictures out in the snow, but this is the closest I can get:

Very nice suby!

I'm quite in love with our 2000 Volvo V70 wagon. Hopefully the next vehicle in our driveway will be a 2005+ S60r! (300hp, 295lb/ft of torque, AWD). I test drove a 6 speed, and it was amazing. I'd honestly take one over an 07 BMW M Roadster, and I've driven both.
