Alright, here's a soft/hardware related question.

Recently (Christmas-ish) reformatted my computer and installed a purchased, legit copy of windows XP (I don't think I've ever done that).

The problem is since then I cannot install games.

I know it sounds bizarre, but I can't. I have two HD's, one is C:/windows and programs, the other is storage.

I've tried installing games on both of those (3 different ones now) and every time they install fine but then crash as soon as I open them.

Oblivion crashes after clicking "play" in the initial popup box.

I tried GTA:SA and it crashed before main menu.

Just now I tried Brothers in Arms and it gave me a "general protection fault" and crashed just after I doubled clicked the icon.

Since getting it I have had no problems whatsoever with installing/uninstalling any other pieces of software beside games.

I looked up solutions to GPF's but nothing seems to be changing.

Anybody have any suggestions?

I hope that's not what it is.

I updated it w/ patch and got this.

Quote:
Error setting display mode: CreateDevice failed (D3DERR_INVALIDCALL). Please delete your BiA.ini file if this error prevents you from starting the game.

History: UD3DRenderDevice::UnSetRes <- UD3DRenderDevice::SetRes <- UWindowsViewport::TryRenderDevice <- UWindowsViewport::OpenWindow <- UGameEngine::PostInit <- InitEngine

Script Stack: Not executing script code

Tried deleting BiA.ini with no luck.

I really hope this isn't a video card problem.
