an x2 4200+ will limit you at low resolution, if you get a screen that can do 1600x1200 or higher you can take the weight off the cpu and enjoy the beifits of sli.

No, he didn't mean that if you increased your resoluion that you'll get a better score, he just ment that you'll see more of an increase from SLI as opposed to a system with only one card and that your CPU bottleneck will be less evident.

At lower resolutions your video card(s) aren't being worked too hard and your "weakest link" / bottleneck becomes your CPU/Memory. By increasing your resolution, especially with SLI, you aren't taxing your CPU that much more but your video card(s) will be. Since you now have two fast card in your system you will be able to push the resolution higher than a system with only one card before you start seeing the video subsystem as being the new bottleneck. Hence why Dr_Bend_Over suggested SLI is a bit of a waste at those lower resolutions.

*Edited for grammar*

if you clock that 4200+ up to about 2.7-3.0ghz (if its a brisbane it will be easy)then you should see a drastic improvment but its still better to run a higher res.

Even then an X2 drags things down in '06.

yeah but i think he is more concerned with actual game performance, and in that case it should be fine.

ok thanks for all the replys. i want to oc my processor but i dont know how. i red and red and red and im still not sure. i herd this 2.2 brisbane cores can get upto 2.7-3 ghz no problem. in an earlyer post i made some1 gave me the basics to it all. but im still not 100% clear i dont wana blow my processor. i also would be willing to pay some1 to show me or do it for me .
i got a m2n-e sli main board and the processor is liquid cooled. rite now its over clocked to 2.4 ghz from the ai overclock in the bios. with no load it sits around 30 and on load goes up to 40 so i think im good for overclocking and heat issues
