This is not a bulletin board for "said online retailer" (*cough* NCIX *cough*). For the owner of this here place the prices are as follows:

BFG 8800GT OC 512MB DDR3 (Core 650/Mem 1.8GHz)2DVI/HDTV PCI-E (Lifetime w/ Registration) + $30Rebate 246.00 (mail-in rebates are scams and I don't touch em)

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD3870 512MB 2DVI/HDCP PCI-E Video Card, Lite Retail (1YR MB Warranty) 186.00

Some places are just NV-centric and get better prices (or just get bribed more). All the major online retailers will have better prices than MB. MB is here, in Halifax, selling stuff, so I'll buy from them.

Yeah, frankly someplaces prices on Ati cards SUCK compared to MB, though I have purchased all my Nvidia cards there in recent years. I've gotten all my Ati cards from MB, except my Xpert98 (FPOS that it was)

MB prices on nvidia products aren't very good, hence the high price on the 8800GT, the prices i quoted where from the biggest north American parts retailer, i named no names so that is in accordance with forum policy.

So how fast is the shipping of that certain online shop. I need a Ultra 120 or Tuniq Tower. MysteryByte can't get them.

Well said CMDR Steve-O . I like the idea of keeping business local . MB has a great group of folks working there and very helpful . Sometimes the online deals for the sake of a few bucks just aren't worth the hassle for me . The fact that if anything goes wrong with components its much easier to deal with the MB staff than to send it back to the online store wait to hear back and hope the wonderful postal system we have come to know and love doesn't screw up with our item . From my experience you just don't get that kind of service from an online store . Go team MB :D .

P.S. and no I am not on the MB payroll just a very satisfied customer .

i am not saying anything agaist MB i am just saying you can't make statments about pricing based on 1 local shop, if you look around you will see that pricing on the 3870 and 8800gt is almost identical everywhere.

i still buy alot of hardware from MB, but not all of it. I shop around for expensive components or parts that i can't find here.

You might want to pre-emptively get a walker and a wheelchair. I hear standing in place for 60+ years doesn't do good things to the knees.

I just blame Vista for all my problems.

Hands up for those can afford to:
a) buy a GX280
b) buy a new PSU for the GX280
c) buy a new case to put the GX280 in
d) afford the 50$ a month power bill!
