Yeah, if you look around there are some amazing deals on 512 GTS'. I just picked one up for $260 ($230 after MIR) and I couldn't be happier.

Stock `06 (just a benchmark, no need to open up that discussion in here.... :) ) with my oc'd quad was 15,500. Stock with my 3870 was about 12,500. I'm still working on the OC of the GTS, but currently am getting 16,450.

Doesn't ATI do the graphics chips for the Wii? If so I wouldn't call that backing the wrong pony unless we're talking about "coolness factor" and not from a financial stand point.
