I'm using stock cooling. There's not really many tips to give accept maybe try ocing memory more. You "might" have to drop you core speed to 800mhz or a bit lower to get 2200mhz+ on mem speed.
Before I couldn't have my core above 790mhz with my mem speed at 2200mhz+. Now I can run at 810/2025/2220.
Image processing is "high performance" and everything else "app controlled". Also set to "single display".

Ok I'll give that a try. I'm not much of a Vid card weenie, and haven't run an Nvidia card since my 6600GT.

All I did was bump the core/shaders linked until that crapped out, then unlinked them to get the core slightly higher, and then worked on the memory....

I would have thought that core speed would be king, but I'm more than willing to try out a different mix if it will get me a higher bench. :)

I suppose I'll do it the same way I do CPU/Mem/FSB and push each one to the max with the others at stock, and then find out which settings play nice together.

Yeah, is there anything else folks use for actually OCing Vid cards these days? (CCC doesn't count, and to my knowledge, ATI tool is mostly used just for the 3D artifact tester/stress test.)

Not unless you use a bios editor. Or a volt mod which i guess is quite easy.

16786

That's an awful lot of work for 100 points... :)

Ended up with 810 / 2015 / 1075.

I'll end up dropping those #s down for 24/7 to ensure stability, but that 3G on the cpu is 24/7 already. I know I can do 3.9G 3DMark `06 stable with the current setup, so I might make a "suicide run" for HWBot over the weekend, but it certainly won't be 24/7 folding stable.

Can't really complain though since the card was advertised as 650 core, shipped already flashed to 700, and got me an easy 1500+ points with the OC. :)

Now I'll have to do some gaming with it and see how big of a difference it really makes... going to have to figure out how to force AA + AF in riva tuner as Oblivion doesn't do both HDR and AA/AF natively. :)

I got a new score of 17,308 using 815/2015/2230
I posted that on guru3d haha
3 points away from 29th

the only thing I know how to use on Riva tuner is the OC options.

Got my score on hwbot.org

http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=727483

I don't think I can go much higher as these quads only oc past 3.6 on certain mobo's. One being the Asus P5E, but of course not the Kind I have but the ASUS P5E-VM HDMI mATX with the G35 chipset.
I think I'll sell my X38-P5E and P35-Ds3l. And get a board to take me past 3.6ghz.

Heh, says something about what hardware is represented on HWBot when your score is still only in the "normal" range (at the top of that range mind you) for all scores.

That's one of the reasons I'm not a strong supporter of the HWBot model. In order to play, you pretty well have to either have the newest of the new tech, or you need to be running your cpu under Dry Ice.

Or you can take old worthless crap and OC the jeebers out of it, maybe slap it with a top end cpu. My Sli'd 6800GS's were kings on there for months. Well for 6800's anyway.

Still in the top ten though :D

You'll never catch him. He's doing crazy things nowadays to cool the best of CPUs.

Yep, I got some points for being one of under 10 folks who submitted benchmark scores for a mobile 9200 onboard vid chip.

That said.... even with the older gear, it's the folks who either have aftermarket cooling on their older vid cards, or the ones who slap an old cpu under dry ice who get the points.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the way they hand out points, just pointing out that it's directed towards folks who do extreme things to their hardware, while the normal joe who's only looking for a high stable OC gets left out.

I'd like to see them add a few "stable" oc benchmarks which require screenies of things like an 8 hour+ prime/orthos. (Similar to what DFI-Street used to require for the 3G club).

Just switched to an E8400 on my main rig and boy does `06 ever award extra points for running a quad!!!

Even with the E8400 running @ 4250 I'm still over 1000 points off of what I was getting on the Quad @ 3750.

All GFX scores are higher, but I'm down 1000+ based solely on the CPU.

Just tried the new gear on XP SP3, 20361 and the 8800GTXs are barely oc'd.

BTW Skiman's phase change is offline.
