imo Ultimate isn't worth it so go with X64 Premium so you'll get all of that 4gig ram kit in use.

only reason i have an ultimate license is becuase i got it free, otherwise its not worth 2x the price for a total of 3 network protocols you will never use, and the ultimate extras downloads are a joke!

I went with G.Skill myself & like them. No problems whatsoever. Long as it's a higher name brand it'll be good quality ram.

also i dont know if i am ready to amke the vista jump or not, so 4gb wouldnt be 100% utilized in xp32
..so perhaps a 4gb kit isnt nessecary, with the price of ddr2 the way it it, upgrading if i decide i need more isnt a problem...

alot of boards are buggy with 4 banks in use, your best bet would still be to buy a 2x2gb kit since prices are low now, but will go up this summer garunteed, brand means more if you are overcllocking,m the supertalent stuff is perfect for running at stock and a little higher. vista sweet spot is 3-4gb so even if you don't run 64 bit, you will still see the benifit of all but 750mb of it. X64 is what i reccomend though becuase it actually better then 32bit and plays things like crysis and others better as well.

hey there mav .... I got some supertalent from MB a few months ago and I have no trouble with it . It's stable even slightly overclocked as well . Great price and so far no probs . If your on a budget not too bad a purchase and you know MB will back up everything they sell .

I've had nothing but good luck with my 4-4-3-8 PC2 6400 supertalent sticks.

No problem running them 1040 @ 5-5-5-12, but these sticks are over a year old so they might have changed chips since then.

my recommendation for switching to vista would be Business x64. i currently run Business 32bit and i find it far more stable than home premium. also, if you're into obtaining game demos and the like from torrents then i found that the internet connection was much more stable in Business than in Home Premium.

as for the ram; i'm using supertalent myself. 2x1GB of PC5400 which overclocked to almost 1ghz and 2x1GB of PC6400. i never really tried overclocking since i put in the mixed speed ram. whether you're using a 32 or 64bit OS i'd recommend 4GB of ram since it's so cheap now for DDR2.
