A computer magazine (forget which one off-hand) did an article on Vista crashes and they found the majority of the problems were caused by nVidia - ATI had their fair share as well though. Microsoft may not have fully prepared those companies for their OS when it came out but as far as the data was concerned the errors were happening in the video drivers code.

Just thought I'd throw that out there. ;)

They don't call it "The Broken OS" or "Me II" for nothing!

I just blame Vista for all my problems.

Hands up for those can afford to:
a) buy a GX280
b) buy a new PSU for the GX280
c) buy a new case to put the GX280 in
d) afford the 50$ a month power bill!

I'm pretty sure my 8800GTS (512) will suit my needs for a few years anywise.... :)

$650 isn't actually that bad for the top end cards. They used to be $800+ a few years ago and I remember MSI releasing a $1000 GeForce - I think it was a 6800-series but I could be mistaken.

*I* wouldn't spend that much for a card, and I'm sure most of you wouldn't either, but that doesn't mean no one will. Skiman will have one of these in a few weeks afterall right? ;)

a) Nope, no component over $400 for me (LCD was an exception)
b) 550W minimum so realistically you would need at least 750W for the high end hardware to go with it
c) Too long to fit in my case
d) Don't pay for power
e) apparently a PCI-E 2.0 slot is a requirement?! So new mobo as well.
