Just a note as long as you don't need to do HDMI, or anything other than ONE DVI-D input, get the 305T. I got the 275T+ becasue I have my cablebox plugged into it as well, and I like TV!

Not worth the extra 400$!

The inputs for a 275T(+), and component interface as well.

AND the 275T does PiP, but the PiP cannot be DVI or HDMI, which suxors oh well.

My setup (in case Clarke wants to be uber l33t and beat the shizzle out of everyone...)

The 27" makes the 21" look tiny hehe! The Gateway is still is a super monitor, even 3 years down the road.

And yes! get the Velociraptor. Get 4, so you can RAID 1+0 em!

oooh shiny!

the monitor has nohting to do with beating the crap outa everone. system first. then screen.lol

if you want to have the best/most expensive then why aren't you buiding a system around skulltrail?

grab a skulltrail motherboard, 2 qx9770 lga 771 cpu's and 4gb of 18000mhz ddr3, then drop in 2 9800gx2's, and 2 velociraptor drives. thats prob about 7k worth of stuff there and you won't get any better of a setup then that.

The Skull Trail will cost you a mere $650 (part of this going on the FB-DIMM sever memory) but you will have a few other out-of pocket expenses before you-re running Halo 3 on this thing:

$3000 for two quad-core 3.2GHz Core 2 Extreme QX9775 processors
$800 for your choice of graphics card
So, yours for $4450 then!

But there may be a few catches:

Will this motherboard be compatible with Intel’s next generation chips? Probably not.

How hot is this thing going to run? Nvidia’s graphics cards, for instance are notoriously hot-running. Intel engineers have reported that the hottest chips on the board are Nvidia’s bridge chips hooking up the PCIe slots for SLI use. No wonder that in the top photo all I can see are large fan-sink coolers everywhere.

But what’s really strange about this promotion is its targeting at the gaming community. Games, generally, are not great users of multi-threading architecture so even under high demand only two of the eight cores are going to be used at a time. A far better use for this system would be as a 3D rendering machine or movie rendering but for playing games it’s just a waste.

ill keep reading up on them

It's deff a bragging system no doubt. I mean my budget striker II, E3110 & 8800GT's are more than what anyone needs to play any game out there made right now & more than likely for quite awhile so till then I'll stick with my gear & OC it easily enough on air. It's more a mind over matter thing with me. Till it's necessary there isn't much sense to get new gear just to say I have it. I wanted to do SLI & did it with the best bang for my buck cards. No 45nm chips made need water let alone a peltier so it's complete overkill when it comes to that right. Water would be nice sometime in the future just to quite things up a touch but spending over $300 for that hardly seems worth it either. I dunno guess that's just me?

show me a more expensive gaming motherboard then skulltrail.
and if all your doing is benchmarking like you said then i doubt you would be able to match 2 qx 9775 cpu's any other way.

i would be very suprised if it didn't support the nehalem cpu's, as its based on an 5400 chipset wich is very similar to the X48. intel has a good history as of late for making old boards support new chips. for example the 965 based P5B supports 45nm chips. not saying its a sure thing just saying i would be suprised.

but i only threw this out there becuase you said money was no object, personally i don't think its worth the cash.

1.280v too lol.

I think you may still have some room to push as well. You must have a good cpu (and luck) to get that clock @ that voltage.
