 Post subject: slight problem

everynow and again when i reboot i get this error on bootup

bad cmos check sum resetting bios press F1 to continue or press Del to enter setup.

you mentioned you were trying different bios' to get a better overclock. is the bios you're currently using a beta bios?

allready thought of the bios. it was doin this before i flashed the bios and after is the problem.
battery is what im gonna try today. i read online that asus has been shipping boards with dead batteries

Yeah, first guess would either be battery, or (been there, done this.... :) ), double check that your cmos reset jumper is in the correct position. I forgot to move mine back to the default position once and had similar issues.

well i think u were rite.
there was no jumper at all on the default bios setting.
i put on a jumper. and rebooted about 10 times. didnt do it yet. LOL

yes still working. haven't seen the error since
see im use to the older computers. when u put a jumper on the bios reset the computer dont turn on. with the newer computer they still turn on with the bios reset button
