MB usually has Video or the specific onboard graphics like say GMA3100 in the description. Although browsing it right now there appears to be some exceptions. Perhaps you can give us more details about what you're building(and budget) and we can make some suggestions.

The lowest of the low-end video cards would be better than anything built-in. Even a 50$ Radeon 3450 would be better, and it'll decode video fine.

If it doesn't come right out and say... have a look at the input/output connections either in the picture or in the board specs.

you should look at going with an AMD 780G chipset or even the AMD 790 GX ( If its even out). The former is relatively cheap board. Has an onboard video card that is similar to a 3450 in performance. It can also handle any video content you can throw at it. ( Blu ray playback, HD video etc, providing a good cpu to match.

I am building a small HTPC around this board (mATX case) use the onboard video for a while then swing for a 4850 when funds permit ( and games are out such as Diablo III)

Board sounds like quite the steal if you want to sort of build slowly up to a decent machine, without the big expense for everything. basically with case, memory, cpu and board, I am looking at around 400$ including taxes.

for info on chipset

Nope, it's got a serial port which has pins rather than holes, and there is nothing there that's labeled as being "video out".

ASUS M3A78-EMH HDMI (102$)
AMD Athlon-64 X2 Dual Core (6000+) (128$)

But I'm just an AMD fanboi. Even so there is abosolutely nothing on the Intel side that even touches it.

CMDR's pointing to the blue colored (vga) port. It has 3 rows of 5 holes. If you see a motherboard with that vga port then it has built in grahpics of some kind.

Some motherboards/sites may say something like "gma3100" in the description - then you know it has built in intel video. Some will say GeForce #### (like 6100, 8200, etc), like this:

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/ ... CatId=2321

Some may just say "video" in the description, like this:

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/ ... CatId=2321
