I don't want to talk you out of your big plans, but if you hold off for a few weeks, you can get even better performance that will stay at the top of the line until intel shrinks to 32nm.

I also agree with Skiman, I don't want to tell you how to spend you money however... I mean, would you rather build a system and spend thousands of dollars only to have it take second place to a new processor in a few weeks?

Personally I would be willing to wait a few weeks and build a similiar system based on the new Core i7(Nehalm) processors and have it reign supreme for months even a year, until the 32nm chips come out.

If you want the best of the best, I suggest you wait a few weeks for the Core i7 processor. It will wipe the floor with all the current top Quad core Intel CPU's.

Ah, well in that case the situation changes things.
Since you are buying a new system then go for skull trail dual quad core and then buy Core i7 once it comes out ;)
