Didn't know I was living in Mexico. WMP11 has a BUY link for an actual CD sitting in my drive.

WMP11 - WORST ONE YET! Did they get people who had never used WMP before to design this or what!?

I've been hearing that Microsoft wants WMP11 to be more like iTunes' "Genius Track" (or whatever "Genius" name it was) to help their Zune's compete with the iPod's and to offer a movie service similar to the iTune's one. Since iTunes is pretty much crap it's only logical that a program based off of it falls into the same category. :)

Winamp / VLC for me.

I think I started using winamp at version 1.2. Or whatever was around in October 1997. Back then it would show you the number of songs played/hours played. Hah this was even before "Nullsoft" existed.

ok, breathe... lol
all i do with WMP is play movies and TV shows. i open the video file, it plays in WMP, and when it's over i close WMP. easy, clean, no fuss. for everything else it's winamp.

I actually really like iTunes. I use VLC for all my videos but for music I find that iTunes is simple yet effective. I love the clean interface, the organization. Plus the search capabilities are way better than in WMP.

Are you talking about searching for a song you would like to download or a file that's in your library you would like to play? Because if it's a file you have I don't think it gets much easier than hitting 'J' and then typing in the song/artist and having the search filter out the songs you may be looking for as you're typing it. Most of the time I only have to type a few characters in before it's more or less narrowed down the list to what I want. And if I want to finish the current song off before jumping to the next one I always have the option to Que ('Q' key) the song(s) and it will go to them next even when play mode is set to random... which I always have it on.

So the search is a bit more hidden but once you know the quick keys jumping around Winamp works quite well. :)

If you sorted your songs right in the first place searching would be too damn easy! I'd like to see WMP or iTunes not blow up with 850GB of mp3s.

I'd buy that album for a dollar!

The good news is I saw a preview for Windows 7 and they'll be including a Lite version of WMP that just plays the song/movie you clicked on and nothing else... kinda like the old Media Player with the gray background some of you may remember.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH.

New album, SAME CRAP! It doesn't know what CD it is (although it downloaded the track list and album art). I can't see why people are so angry at this DRM crap....
