Ok here is my question. I have 2x2gb ddr2 1066 chips right now and have found a nice deal on 4x1gb ddr2 1066 chips. Is there and real performance difference between 2x2gb vs 4x1gb. The 4x1gb chip are nicer chips for my project that's why I ask. I don't intend to overclock either chips. thanx

2 sticks are always easier to run than 4, but it's usually only when overclocking that it becomes a huge issue.

Did you do some research on your motherboard to see if other folks have had issues running 4 sticks @ 1066?

I am running my ram on a Asus striker 2 formula with an e8400 at 4ghz. I don't know if that makes much difference with the 2x2gb or 1x4gb setups. The 2x2gb chips are Transcend’s aXeRam and the 1x4gb chips are Crucial Ballistix. All of these are 1066mhz.
