check to see if any of the pin are bent in lga socket...(I doubt any are) and are u 100% positive the heatsink is installed correctly?other then that there is not too much that could be wrong..or if the cpu is installed incorrectly..but i also doubt that.

Did you RESET the bios?

I know that the settings may still be what I had them so resetting them to default may help.

Ram timings and voltages? Depending on your ram you may have to set it manually.

I have some thermal paste at my place. And if your in halifax sunday just give me a shout and bring your computer over. We'll take a good look!

Flashing your BIOS should be last option. Take a good look at your thermal paste, if ANY little bit of heat conducting grit gets in the paste then it can cause a hot spot on your CPU. I recommend re-seating the CPU and possibly try installing a 64bit OS if you can.

The bios has been flashed already to the latest and greatest.

I did that on the board about a week ago while talking to Rone.

Allright, after I got back from the valley, I reset the bios and so far so good. Stupid me not thinking about the settings being changed beforehand, anyways all is well now, off to some testing!

yeah your definitely going to need a better video card.

if you pick up a 8800 gts or a 9800 you should hit around 13-15k 3dmarks.

With a OC to 4.0 you should be around 17.5-19k!
