OS: Windows Vista - Service Pack 1
XP - Service Pack 3.
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz
AMD Phenom X3 2.1Ghz
Memory: 2 GB (Windows XP)
2.5 GB (Windows Vista)
18 GB Free Hard Drive Space.
Video Card: 512MB NVIDIA 8600
512MB ATI 3870

So I guess that Tri-Core outperforms any 3Ghz dual-core chip. Nice to see vid cards arn't going to be an issue with anyone here!

only way i can see that would be if it is very heavily multithreaded.

lol@the ever unequal game requirements.
512MB 3870 or 512MB 8600?! no way. unless by 3870 they meant 3650 or by 8600 they meant 8800...
i can't think of one game where they had consistent system requirements between Intel/AMD or ATI/nVidia.
the only time a "minimum requirement" really applies is when you're running an unsupported operating system, or you have a graphics card which is missing a required instruction set. everything else is just a "best guess" for playability which usually tries to sell some product.

lol, did the same to me. i love it when a game detects optimal resolution as 1024x768. crank it up to 1920x1200 and you get a full clip and then some...

Not sure if these specs are accurate, as Gamespot released an interview with the PC developers of GTA4 detailing how robust their engine will be due to intense optimizations to the engine, also stating that you "will be able to play this game on 3 year old systems"

From what I've read, they've made just about every element of the engine's graphical processing toggleable, right down to traffic density (which will also be able to be turned higher)

Also heard that it looks significantly better than the console versions, and it will (finally) include a replay system where if you just did something cool, you hit F2 and it saves a video of it (it pre-buffers game data a la Skate)

Should be great nonetheless
