It's your 4850 holding you back I THINK.

Even @ 4.0 I dont think your breaking 14k.

But remember that 3dmark isn't a true test and measurement of your pc.

You seem to be on par for this hardware combination

Found this as a compare for 3DMark06

13,040

E8400 @ 3.6

4850 @ 700/1040

i7 965 on air

27 x 155 or 4185MHz @ 1.414V

Sli'd BFG stock cooling, no extra voltage (yet)

Video clocks
Core 696MHZ
Shader 1440
Ram 1140
(in single card each will get 730, 1500, 1180)

If one wants to run SLI on an X58, then only the newest Nvidia (and yet to be Futuremark approved) drivers are the only option.

Found a little time today to further refine for 3DM'06.

A little hint, disabling hyper-threading not only gets much higher clocks at lower temps and voltages, it seems in 3DM'06 a little better score.

Hmmm I'm a little confused...I have my system overclocked to 3.3ghz (165x20) but for some reason I'm getting a lower core then when I first benched @ stock settings after a fresh install of vista. This is really annoying..I wonder what's going on. I've never been able to get higher than I did on that very first run of 3d mark 06.

Your CPU is at 1.4V??? Wow, that seems really high to me. Do you notice any heat issues with that high of a frequency and voltage?

It seems to be on par with other 965 at this speed and I'm too concerned as the temps are fine over the days I was setting up the system. Additionally the voltage seems to read high by .06V as compared to a meter and I do have load calibration on the REII turned off.

Strange, but I can go a 29x133 without so much as a bump to any of the voltages, beyond that it needs a big jump in voltages.

Knowing of the validation process, some processors easily pass the top level of validation, while other processors just barely pass the same tests.

I think my i7 965 is of average quality, or slightly less than average as based upon freq vs Voltage; but I can certainly say it is not cherry picked.

I've been keeping an eye on the benchmarks results and see I'm doing better than some, but not as good as others, with one cat reaching 5GHz stable on air and still under 1.3V...now that is a nice CPU.

@ 1920x1200, damn these beat the $730 monster that was the fastest card available at this time last year. (ok, not quite a year but darn close)
