Has anyone RMA'd to Seagate? Was wondering if I could get your costs/experience and how long it took to return.

They say they need something called a 'seashell' which is an anti static case the same shape as the hdd or anti static bag.

How would I go about RMA'ing?

you know the static bags they come in when you buy them, send it to them in that, and they usually take about 2-3 weeks on average

Shouldn't you have a screenshot from Demolition Man to go with that "sea shell" joke? ;)

Nice Demo man reference smart ass lol. Actually it was hilarious, i read it half drunk at my buddies house and damn near pissed myself haha.

Good to know that using a regular anti-static bag is fine, I thought I'd have to order these 'seashells' from Seagate, which in turn would cost too much to justify sending it away. Also 2-3 weeks is about 1/8th the time I expected to wait. Just don't know if adding a 250gb IDE to compliment my 320gb raid array would be worth it. But I guess I can always fill it up with music and movies.

Thanks for the help guys!

Note: Just took a look around the house for an anti-static bag, no luck. I knew I shoulda kept them. I'm assuming best bet for getting one would be to head over to a local computer shop and see if they got any laying around?
