window is open yeah, with a 200mm right over the cpu it really helps systrm temps have stayed at 29c im pretty comfortable how things are running now, debating to myself on how long i should let prime run. do u think those temps are high skiman?

When running 100% load one can expect the higher temps, and yours are not too high. Feel reasured that under your current cooling, voltage and load, this is as hot as the processor is going to get. If running only 30% load and you had those temps, then I'd be concerned.

TJun is about 102C or so? So you have plenty of room. I recall reading that for every 10C rise above 25C, a transistor's lifespan is cut in 1/2 (this assumes 24/7 operation). Considering the we know Intel has about a 1M hour design, we can state that if you were to run your processor at 65C 24/7, you could do this for a total of 75,000 hrs or 3125 days before you could expect a failure.

Mind you, you're about 140C warmer than I'd like to be

thanks for that reassurment skiman, do u think 2 1/2 hrs is enough for prime? i think i might let it run a bit longer and then run 3dmark see how that holds up...

overall for a system i built piece by piece hitting 4ghz will be the final thing for this system,i'll run it for a eyar or so then maybe build an i7 so on and so fourth...

thanks for your help guys, if i push it any further you'll all know!

oh and skiman, i wanna see some videos of the liquid nitrogen cooling...

Sure is long enough for me. If you try an 06 run at this current speed, how about trying 3934 Mhz and 3967 MHz also, just to see if you get a higher 06 score, even though you have less clocks.

BTW, I'm not using liquid nitrogen. This is a totally self contained unit that simply plugs into the wall.

Final clock on my E8400 was 3760MHZ, @ 1.27 Vcore(1.24 in windows).
However Vdroop when 100% load is massive on this P5QL, OCCT reports a 0.05 volt drop, to me 3.76 GHZ with only 1.19 volts seems pretty damn good. The processor definitely has the potential to clock much much higher, however @ 420 MHZ it wont post no matter what, and its because of the cheapy Kingston that does not like to oc (not surprising). Temps never go higher than 55 when 100% load in prime 95 for hours. The system seems pretty quick as it does 1M in super pi in 12 seconds flat.
