So it has been released out into the wilds. More options = better right?

1) 260$ MSRP seems to be a rediculous price.
2) In SLI, can't reliably beat a single 580 (which is cheaper).
3) Some titles have it competing with the 6870, which shouldn't even happen.

Gainward seems to be working on a 2GB version of the card (GPGPU function?)
TGT (?) appears to be making an uber OC version, that uses 2x8pin connectors (standard is 2x6pin).

It looks to be a match for the 6950 to me, which makes it the better buy (and hence why AMD probably dropped their prices)

As for the 6870 comment... I'm not sure why AMD even bothered with that thing. A 5850 can kick it's ass for the most part.

I would almost say this card is too rushed, it doesnt seem like it contends with the 6950 in anything with DX11 like the two flagships do...it seems almost hit and miss with game engines...some winning, some losing...however the margin of difference seems to be heavier in a losing position than a winning position game for game. ..
