From the sounds of this "Smart Response" technology it will turn any mechanical hard drive into a hybrid. With 20GB's of space it will have much more room to work with than the Seagate Momentus drives (which have 4GB's) so hopefully the speed increase will be much more impressive. Also not sure on the motherboards pricing yet so it's hard to say at this point.

Just thought I would throw it out there for discussion though!

20GB seems to me to be a sweet point, just big enough for caching all the OS and stuffies. Will it work like it should, who knows!

I think its a great idea. Time will tell if it performs well or not. I for one would like to see this work out well and see AMD come out with something similar and cheaper.

I'm waiting on pricing and benchmarks but something like this could very well be what I go with for my next board. I would still probably pair it with an SSD but it might mean I could buy a smaller drive and save some money that way.

My motherboard has an onboard OS, doesn't mean I use it. (nor the onboard audio)

No, but it's an option, and like onboard audio, it might be a lot cheaper than the alternative.... but for the record I don't like onboard audio either. ;)
