Thank you for your email. We appreciate the opportunity to respond.
All EastLink High Speed Internet customers are entitled to a free rental modem.
(I asked since I bought my other modem and not renting it)You will not have to pay to rent the new DOCSIS 3.0 modem.
The 250GB usage limit will be a cumulative total of your upload and download
usage. This cap is not active at present, but should be enabled in mid- to
late July.
(Sounds like a good scam for a couple months)The usage cap does not apply to EastLink High Speed Internet 5 or 15, but
applies to all upgrades to Internet 30. Should you exceed 250GB per month your
speed will not decrease, you will simply be billed for the excess usage. A
tool will be available to measure your bandwidth consumption when this cap
becomes active. Should you later decide to move back to the 5Mb/s or 15Mb/s
speed the usage cap will be removed.
Kindly telephone us and one of our Customer Service Representatives will be
happy to assist you further and to start the upgrade process. Contact
information for your area is available online at

I think I'm going to go for it since there's no cap for 2 months, and the new modem is free free free!
